Andalucia's Lecrin Valley is one of Spain's best kept secrets. Here you can still sample the flavours and culture of a traditional old Spanish lifestyle, it's not uncommon to see mules in the villages still used for local farming, and the village women washing at the fountain in the plazas! The ski slopes at Sol Y Nieve are around 45 mins drive away, and the beaches at Salobreña and Motril on the Costa Tropical around 30 minutes. The city of Granada is about a 25 min drive from the Valley with the beautiful Moorish Alhambra, 
cathedral, shopping, cinemas, sightseeing and tapas bars (one of the few places still serving them free with your drink!) The villages of the Alpujarras and Sierra Nevada close by are excellent for walking, cycling, arts and crafts, traditional hams and much more. It all makes for an enjoyable and memorable holiday.
