A very spacious (156m2) village house, tastefully restored in traditional Andalucian style, fully furnished and equipped for 6, in the heart of the lower barrio of Albuñuelas. There is a tiled swimming pool with sun terrace and a shaded Moroccan seating area. Although in the centre of the village it is completely private and not overlooked by other properties.

The house comprises:

• Ground floor: entrance, big kitchen/dining room, covered terrace, pool, outside shower, WC with hand basin
• First floor:  two double bedrooms, one with double bed, balcony, ensuite shower and washbasin;  the other with two single beds, separate bathroom with WC
• Second floor:  living room with fireplace (with 2 extra pullout beds).  Sun terrace with views up to the head of the valley equipped with outside shower

The house is fully furnished and equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable, including washing machine, dish washer, glass-ceramic hobs, oven, refrigerator with freezer, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, radio/CD player, fans, TV, DVD player, hairdryer, etc.
For your comfort there is a wood-burning stove in the lounge and also heaters in the bathroom, and kitchen/dining room.
The terraces are fully furnished with chaises longues, tables, chairs and parasols.
Parking is available just round the corner from the house.
There is also the possibility, in the village, of painting classes by well-known British artist, Spanish classes by qualified Spanish national, Spanish cookery classes by the local caterer, horse riding (on Spanish horses!), etc. so plenty to keep you entertained during your stay.

Prices are inclusive of all household linen and bathroom towels, cleaning before arrival and after departure, and swimming pool check-up and clean twice weekly in season.

About Albuñuelas

The traditional white village of Albuñuelas overlooks the dramatic Rio Santo gorge, its location one of rare natural peace and beauty.  It is a unique place, the most stunning of the villages in the Lecrin Valley, with its narrow winding streets only troubled by the occasional donkey winding its way back from a day’s work in the orange groves.  Albuñuelas is located at 700m altitude but being so southerly benefits from a frost-free climate which gives the whole valley luxuriant vegetation. 

Albuñuelas is situated a 30-minutes drive from the Moorish town of Granada and its wonderful Alhambra Palace.  Unrivalled for beauty and architectural splendour, the entire city of Granada has been declared a national monument.  Granada is one of the three towns of the golden triangle of Andalucian cities; the other two, Seville and Cordoba, can be easily visited from a base in the Lecrin Valley.

Going south Albuñuelas is also the same distance from the Mediterranean coast (Costa Tropical) where long sandy beaches intersperse with little known coves nestling between craggy cliffs and fruit groves.

Day-to-day living is easy as on the road through the top of the village there are three grocers and several bars (with free tapas). Three bakers and the fishmonger come by every day (except Sunday);  the greengrocer, the chicken man, the egg lady come once a week, all stopping very near the house. There are also half a dozen restaurants in the valley.
